Ben Speedie will be the man in charge when Rovers travel to the LNER Stadium to face Lincoln City in Sky Bet League One on Tuesday evening.
The Merseyside man was promoted to the National List of Referees in 2020 and this will be the third time that he has been in charge of a Rovers match.
He was the man in the middle when Rovers faced Rotherham United in the Papa John’s earlier this season and for a 1-0 away defeat at Crewe Alexandra at the tail end of the 2020/21 campaign.
So far this season, Speedie has taken charge of 21 matches across National League, Leagues One and Two, the Papa John’s Trophy, Carabao Cup and Emirates FA Cup.
He has handed out at least one yellow card per match this season, booking a total of 61 players and showing two red cards.
Last weekend, he booked five Charlton Athletic players and four Cambridge United players as Conor Washington’s brace secured three points for the Addicks.
This weekend, Speedie will be assisted by Daniel Woodward and Marc Wilson. The fourth official will be David Hunt.
