Bogle pleased to get on the scoresheet

16 January 2022

Omar Bogle spoke to the media after the 2-1 defeat to Wigan Athletic in Sky Bet Legaue One.

The striker came off the bench to score his first goal of the season at the Eco-Power Stadium.

On the performance:

“We showed a lot of fight and it was a much better performance than last week against a good side.

“We need more performances like that, Wigan are right up there and if we can find some consistency we’ll be fine.

“If we keep playing like that we’ll give ourselves a great chance, the important thing is to build on it.”

On his goal and Gary McSheffrey’s trust in him:

“I managed to come on and get a goal which is great, it came off my knee and before I knew it the ball was in the net.

“Gary has brought me back in and it’s down to me now to get myself as fit as I possibly can to repay him.

“I worked with him while I was training with the young lads so I’d like to think he’s seen me having the right attitude and working hard every day.

“Getting match fit can obviously only come from playing every week and if I do that I feel I can score goals to help the team out of this situation.”
