Adam Clayton believes Rovers are capable of putting a run of results together in a busy Sky Bet League One schedule.
Clayton and his new team mates face nine games before the end of February, and he says it is the ideal opportunity to climb the table.
He said: “I know more than most if you put a few wins together in this division it can make the table look very different.
“There’s a chance of nine points in the space of a week so that shows how much is possible.
“Speaking to the manager and the staff there is a real belief that we can get ourselves up the table.”
Clayton is looking forward to the task in hand of helping Rovers out of the situation they currently find themselves in.
He added: “It had to be the right move and a challenge for me, it’s a club that is trying to go in the right direction and the manager is working hard to get us up the table.
“There were a couple of six-month deals offered to me, but I wasn’t interested in that, I wanted a project and a place I can call home.
“Hopefully the fans will see a lot of organisation from me, I keep the ball moving and get the team playing.”
