Rovers have completed the signing of goalkeeper Jonathan Mitchell on an 18-month deal.
The 27-year-old joins to compete with Louis Jones as well as providing cover for the current No.1.
Mitchell is approaching 100 career games after initially making his professional debut for Sky Bet Championship side Derby County and was called up to the England U21 side in 2016.
He spent time out on loan with the likes of Luton Town, Oxford United and Northampton Town, before penning a short-term deal with Hartlepool United in August.
Mitchell becomes Gary McSheffrey’s fourth signing of the January transfer window following the additions of Kieran Agard, Josh Martin and Ollie Younger respectively.
