Telecoms specialist and club partner Jibba Jabba gifted their hospitality table to the participants of Club Doncaster Foundation’s project Rovers Connect for Rovers' home match against Shrewsbury Town.
Rovers Connects – which was originally called the Tackling Loneliness project and started during the first Government lockdown – was designed to support isolated people within the community with food packages, befriending services and stay-at-home exercise routines.
As restrictions lifted, people on the project began to get together for walks and socialising afternoons at Foundation Fitness.
Jibba Jabba regularly offer their table out to fan groups and the social isolation project was one that they are particularly keen to support especially in the lead up to Christmas.
Jibba Jabba director Ashley Harris said: “It was a pleasure to, once again, provide our hospitality table to some deserving fans.
“The Rovers Connects project is a fantastic campaign which provides much needed social interaction for people – many of whom have spent the best part of 18 months in isolation.
“We were honoured to be able to donate our table in the restaurant to the project for the afternoon and we really hope that the people who attended had a wonderful time.”
Brian Day, a participant of the Rovers Connects project added: "It was my first time at a football game and I had a fantastic time. It was a lovely meal with great company and I'd like to say thank you to everyone for the opportunity."
