Rovers Academy have welcomed Manchester City and Rotherham United to Club Doncaster Sports Park.
As part of the U8s programme, City and the Millers visited the 3G pitch outside the Eco-Power Stadium for a mini games tournament.
The competitive matches against quality opposition allowed for an enjoyable but educational afternoon for Rovers’ youngest footballers.
Lead Foundation Phase coach Adam Pilgrim said: “I’d like to thank Manchester City and Rotherham United for coming to visit us. The experience was extremely beneficial to our U8s who are starting out their football journeys here at Rovers.
“The visit of City represents our aspirations as an Academy to be able to compete with clubs of that stature on the pitch in the future.
“We thank City for visiting and we look forward to continuing to develop our relationship with them in the future.”
In Rovers Development Phase news, Rovers U13s have been impressing during their current campaign and were rewarded with a trip to category one side Liverpool on January Saturday 29 where they amicably competed toe-to-toe against some of the best players in their age groups.
