Gary McSheffrey wants Kieran Agard to find a home at Rovers as the striker becomes the first signing of the January transfer window.
The 32-year-old brings experience to the side and has scored more than 60 goals in Sky Bet League One.
"Kieran adds goals. He's got good experience and has played at big clubs in this division, so this won't faze him,” said McSheffrey.
“Kieran’s knowhow and energy will help us and he’s clinical when he gets opportunities.
“His goalscoring record is really good in the division so when he became available, we knew we had to pounce and I’m delighted to get it over the line.”
Agard joins Rovers after a year in Plymouth and McSheffrey hopes that the forward will settle in quickly in South Yorkshire.
"We want Doncaster to be his home where he gets those regular goals again. He's got himself fit and he's in a position where he wants to hit the ground running,” added McSheffrey.
"Strikers know where the net is, but they need to have a place where they are confident, and I think this will be that place for him."
