Gary McSheffrey spoke to the media after the 1-0 defeat to Fleetwood Town in Sky Bet League One.
Ellis Harrison’s early second-half goal sealed the win for the visitors, after a below-par display from McSheffrey’s side.
On a scrappy game:
“We lacked energy and belief, they came and made things happen on the ball which was the biggest difference.
“It took us until the 90th minute to force the goalkeeper into a save and if that went in it would have been smash and grab for us.
“We put a team out there that we felt had a good balance about it, but we didn’t do anywhere near enough.
“Their defence wasn’t being worked enough and it was a bit easy for them, the positive at half-time was that we came in level.
On the goal conceded:
“We’ve given it away too cheaply and they’ve put the ball in an area where any good striker would be.
“They got bodies forward and Harrison was good in the build-up, and he’s had the hunger to get in the box and get on the end of the cross.”
