McSheffrey wants a good performance from Rovers

7 January 2022

Gary McSheffrey spoke to the media ahead of a visit from Fleetwood Town on Saturday.

It will be McSheffrey’s first home match at the Eco-Power Stadium since his permanent appointment as manager

On the response this week:

"We did the debrief of the Morecambe game. We looked through the video and nipped in the bud what we needed to.

"We’ve shown them areas we can improve on and then we looked at all the positives from the first half.

"We can’t dwell on things, but we have to address individual errors and game management. If we do that, we know we are capable of scoring goals and winning games.

"We are trying to keep them in good spirits and confident of winning games."

On Fleetwood Town:

"They’ve had a little break in games with a few being called off.

"They had a good run in December. They play good football, and they move the ball around nicely so it’s going to be a tricky one.

"Morecambe will have had a lot of time to prepare for this game so we have to expect them to come out fresh and with a good game plan to beat us. I’m sure they’ll come here fancying themselves because of where we are in the league.

"We are going to put out a team which is capable of winning games in this league, and I fully expect a good performance."

On Dan Gardner, Omar Bogle and Aidan Barlow:

"Dan will be out for a few weeks, but Omar’s injury isn’t as serious as first thought. We’re hopeful Omar will be available for Saturday.

"Aidan Barlow was ok. He had a bit of a tight hamstring, but he’s been training ok this week."
