Officials changed for Wigan clash

14 January 2022

Alan Young will be in charge when Rovers host Wigan Athletic at the Eco-Power Stadium on Saturday.

Young was brought in as a late replacement for Rebecca Welch who had been set to take charge of the contest.

The Swindon-based official last oversaw a Rovers match in April of 2022, coincidentally this was also a home tie against Wigan Athletic. Rovers lost 4-1 on that occasion with Joe Wright and Tom Anderson both receiving bookings.

This will be the sixth time Young has been put in charge of a Rovers match – Rovers have yet to win a match when Young is referee.

So far this season, Young has overseen ten matches handing out 45 yellow cards and three reds.

There are no changes to the other officials for the match with Conor Brown and Oliver Bickle still due to be assistant referees and Johnathon Bickerdike set to be fourth official.
