Rovers are delighted to confirm the signing of midfielder Adam Clayton on an 18-month deal.
The 33-year-old has a wealth of experience under his belt having spent the majority of his career so far playing in the Sky Bet Championship.
Having come through the ranks at Manchester City, Clayton has played more than 450 career games since his league debut on loan at Carlisle United in 2009.
He has been a consistent performer in the second tier, with spells at Leeds United, Huddersfield Town, Middlesbrough and Birmingham City.
The former England youth international becomes Gary McSheffrey’s fifth signing of the January transfer window.
