Rovers' newest signing Ben Jackson says he will leave everything on the pitch in order to help the club climb the Sky Bet League One table.
The full-back joined on loan from Huddersfield Town on Friday to provide more competition within Gary McSheffrey’s defensive ranks. He helped Bolton Wanderers to promotion from League Two in the 2020/21 season and is looking forward to testing himself in Sky Bet League One.
He said: “The move has come at the perfect time for me and the opportunity here really excites me. I wanted to find somewhere I could play games and get valuable experience under my belt.
“The step up to League One excites me. What will make me happy is if I can come in and make an impact."
The challenge at Rovers was one Jackson relished when deciding the move to South Yorkshire was the right one for him.
He added: “At Huddersfield, I was close to breaking into the first-team but I could not quite get there but I maintained that if I was to go out on loan it needed to be at the perfect club and for me that is Rovers.
“As a young player you are always looking for ways to challenge yourself and the position Rovers find themselves in is unfortunate. I want to be part of the team and try and help the team stay up.
“I leave everything I have on the pitch. I love to attack as much as I love to defend. Clean sheets are just as important to me as goals and assists.”
Jackson is available for selection for Saturday's Sky Bet League One match against Plymouth Argyle.
