Younger: I'm delighted to be here

19 January 2022

Rovers’ third January signing Ollie Younger is looking forward to seeing what the future holds at the Eco-Power Stadium.

The centre-back came through Burnley’s Academy, much like Rovers’ captain Tom Anderson, and moved to Sunderland in September 2020 where he predominately played in their development squad.

“I’m delighted to be here. It was a massive opportunity for me that I could not turn down,” said Younger.

“I want to play matches, and this is the perfect opportunity for me to be around a first-team environment and get some games under my belt.”

The 22-year-old arrives in South Yorkshire with a hunger and desire to show what he can do.

“I have experience of playing at Wembley where there were big expectations so those opportunities have really provided me with hunger,” added Younger.

“I am an aggressive and brave defender who loves to put their body on the line.

“I’m looking forward to what the future holds.”
