Hurst: Rovers a great club for me

22 July 2022

Kyle Hurst says it is a big moment in his career to make the permanent move to Rovers.

The 20-year-old has penned a two-year deal with the club after spending all of his career so far at Sky Bet Championship side Birmingham City.

He said: “I had to make the move and take the opportunity. I knew my path wasn’t at Birmingham and I’m comfortable with that and finding a new home.

“This was the perfect place to come and kick on, I’d like to think I showed glimpses of what I can do in the minutes I got while on trial.

“I like to get on the ball and make things happen, if I can get fans off their seats by beating players then that will make me happy.”

Hurst says his time settling in during the summer was made much easier by the fact he had Adam Clayton already at the club.

He added: “It was massive having Clayts here, I can’t thank him enough for his help while I was on trial both on and off the pitch.

“It helped me a lot, he’s a great role model and he let me stay at his house which made me feel part of the club and get to learn more off him.

“You have to learn from people like him, he’s had a great career and leads by example so he’s somebody that is massive in any dressing room.”
