Joseph Olowu feels the win over FC United of Manchester will help Rovers continue to get into the swing of things ahead of the new league campaign.
A 3-0 win at Broadhurst Park rounded off the pre-season schedule, and Olowu says the good habits put in place in recent weeks will stand them in good stead.
He said: “I think it was a good result, we’ve gone through pre-season unbeaten so hopefully we can take that momentum into the league campaign.
“It’s all about getting into the swing of things and maintaining the good habits, we’re scoring goals and keeping clean sheets which is crucial.
“We’ve shown we can adapt and mix things up depending on the opposition, as players it’s down to us to take that responsibility to recognise that.”
This summer has been Olowu’s first full pre-season since joining Rovers, and he says he’s relished the challenges faced along the way.
He added: “I’ve enjoyed every moment of pre-season, it’s similar to when I first came in last season in terms of getting my head down and working hard.
“I’ve tried to put by best foot forward, I’m grateful that I’ve had a smooth and a good summer to get my levels to where they need to be.
“I feel fitter and that’s improving all the time, I’m not where I want to be but I’m definitely working towards it.”
