Reo Griffiths says the togetherness within the Rovers squad will be key to success in the 2022/23 campaign.
The players return for day one of pre-season training on June 23, having been at Cantley Park for individual testing on Thursday and Friday.
Griffiths said: “The first day with everyone will feel like the first day back at school, I’m sure everyone will be champing at the bit to get going again.
“The togetherness is key for any successful team and we’re no different. The fans were quite rightly disappointed last season but we want to show them now we have the spirit and the energy to have a successful season.
“I got a couple of goals last season and that gave me the taste to go and score as many as possible to get the team promoted.”
The 21-year-old has enjoyed his break following his first six months in the English game, but says his focus swiftly turned on preparing himself for getting back to work.
He added: “It was good to have a break and I feel like it’s helped me massively in coming back stronger and ready for pre-season.
“We’ve all been away but attention quickly turned to getting ourselves prepared, six weeks went very quickly and now we’re ready to go again.
“My achilles feels a lot better having had some rest, I’ve been doing a lot of work throughout the summer so I’m sure I’m good to go.
“It’s my first pre-season in men’s football so I’m excited, it will be tough but something I’m relishing to take me to the level I need to be at.”
