Rovers will be marking International Women's Day 2022 by supporting the #HerGameToo campaign with a dedicated matchday.
Rovers will face Gillingham on Saturday, March 12 at the Eco-Power Stadium which falls on the week of International Women’s Day, celebrated on the March 8.
Rovers recently announced their partnership with the #HerGameToo campaign along with an ambassador for the club, supporter Beth Miller.
This comes with the formation of the Women’s Supporters Group, a group run solely by supporters. The group are using the campaign to create awareness and educate others regarding sexism in the football industry and work to build a more welcoming environment for young girls and women at stadiums across the EFL.
The Rovers squad will proudly wear warm-up t-shirts ahead of kick-off to emphasise the club’s support for the campaign. The matchday programme will also contain a feature for fans along with an important big screen message at halftime.
The supporter's group will be inviting local girl's football teams to the game in an attempt to promote women in football and support Rovers.
Following the conclusion of Rovers against Gillingham, the Belles will host Burton Albion in a double-header at the Eco-Power Stadium.
Rovers chief executive Gavin Baldwin said: "We are proud at the on going work to ensure everyone feels welcome at our club.
"The Rovers Women's Supporter's Group has quickly made a big impression since its formation and it is a pleasure to support their efforts."
