Gary McSheffrey feels Harrison Biggins will add something different to the Rovers midfield in the 2022/23 campaign.
The 26-year-old became McSheffrey’s first signing of the summer transfer window after leaving Sky Bet League One side Fleetwood Town.
He said: “He’s a different type of midfielder to what we’ve got, but he’s also got quality on the ball and can play in a couple of different midfield positions.
“The first time I caught eyes on him live was when we played Fleetwood at home in January, and within the opening few minutes he had made several runs in-behind from midfield.
“He won corners and got his team up the pitch as well as scoring a handful of goals throughout the season for Fleetwood as well.
“We identified him as a potential signing when he played against us, and he brings high energy and good legs in midfield as well as arriving into the box at the right time.”
Born in Sheffield, Biggins will bring with him the desire and work ethic needed to be successful at the Eco-Power Stadium according to his new manager.
He added: “He’s a down to earth lad and from Sheffield so knows the area, he will bring the non-negotiables in terms of his work ethic and wearing his heart on his sleeve.
“A big thing was getting it done early. Once he was aware of our interest he wanted to speak to us first and see what we had to offer.
“He got a feel for us and I know how delighted he is to be joining us which is massive for us as a football club.”
