Tom Nield has been appointed referee for Rovers’ clash with Colchester United on Saturday.
The West Yorkshire official has taken charge of 14 matches this term, with the majority coming in Sky Bet League Two. He has issued 34 yellow cards and no red across those games.
This will be his first outing of the season refereeing a Rovers game but he previously handled them on four occasions over the previous four seasons, since being promoted to the EFL in 2018.
His most recent game involving Rovers was last season’s 2-1 defeat at Wigan Athletic in Sky Bet League One. Of the four matches, Rovers won just one - the 2-1 win over Luton Town during the 2018/19 season.
Nield will be assisted by Samuel Ogles and Daniel Bonneywell on Saturday while Sam Purkiss has been assigned fourth official duties.
