Rovers U18s midfielder Jack Raper felt his side were left to rue missed opportunities in their 2-0 defeat at Mansfield Town.
The One Call Stadium saw a competitive fixture played out between the two teams but the home side ultimately ran out winners despite Rovers having good chances, one of which hit the crossbar.
The defeat sees Rovers record their first loss in a month but Raper thought that on another day the points could’ve returned to South Yorkshire.
He said: “I think in the first-half we were quite compact and we didn’t give them many chances, they had more of the ball than us but they couldn’t break us down.
“If you look at how the game went, we had more chances to go into the break ahead and maybe if we got a goal, the game would have had a different outcome.
“I think there are positives to take away because we did get ourselves into the right positions, but we just need to make sure we add the finishing touches before our next game.”
