Gary McSheffrey says Rovers must focus on themselves when they take on Carlisle United in Sky Bet League Two this weekend.
Rovers are looking to become the first team to beat the Blues at Brunton Park this weekend.
On facing Carlisle:
“They’ve had a good start, I know Paul Simpson is keen to play down how well they’ve done but we’re level on points and it’s a big game for both teams.
“We go into it with a positive mindset and while respecting them and their qualities, we want to be the first team to go there this season and come back with three points.
“They’re difficult to beat and have shown this season how good they can be, but we’ve done a lot of work on them and put a game-plan together we feel can get us a result.”
On starting games better:
“We’ve had a period where we haven’t picked up as many points as we would have liked, but we’re still in a decent position going into the weekend’s game.
“We’re focusing on being hard to beat and we know we’ve got quality in the group to win us games of football.
“Our starts to games have to be better and we want to avoid going a goal or two down before we get a reaction from the players.”
