Trevor Kettle will be the man in charge when Rovers travel to Rochdale on Saturday August 10.
Kettle is an extremely experienced referee having taken charge of his first football league match in 2003. That match was a division three game between Swansea and Bury, a game the Swans won 4-2.
Saturday’s match will be the first time he has taken charge of a League game in the 2019/20 season. He last took charge of Rovers in January 2019 when they travelled to Wycombe Wanderers in the league – a game which Rovers lost 3-2 thanks to two late goals from the Chairboys.
Kettle will be assisted by Peter Gooch and Geoffrey Liddle. The fourth official is Graeme Fyvie.
