Walter Langton became the second Rovers player to be inducted into the Rovers Hall of Fame through a fans vote on Saturday August 24.
As part of the 140 year celebrations, the club are inducting one player from each of club’s 14 decades. The club’s founder, Albert Jenkins, was the first person to be voted in and Walter Langton joined him following an official presentation at Rovers’ match vs Lincoln City.
Walter Langton is Rovers longest serving player remaining at the club for a remarkable 18 seasons. After his competitive playing career at Rovers was over, he stayed at the club as a coach and continued to turn out for the reserves team.
He died in 1952 but his dedication to Doncaster Rovers and his love for the club make him a worthy addition to the Hall of Fame. View the Hall of Fame here.
Rovers supporters will be invited to vote for the next Hall of Famer on the weekend commencing September 9 with the winner due to be revealed at Rovers home match against Peterborough on September 21.
