Gary McSheffrey was pleased to see his side show a response after they beat Crawley Town in Sky Bet League Two.
George Miller scored twice, while Joseph Olowu and Kyle Hurst also found the net in a comfortable 4-1 victory at the Eco-Power Stadium.
On the performance:
“It was a great victory and an important one to get at home, it was crucial that we built on what we did in the cup on Tuesday.
“We went ahead deservedly and then let them back into it, so the message at half-time was to keep working and be patient.
“We take the good fortune with the penalty and then it was a great finish from George for the third, then for Kyle to cap it off as he did was tremendous.
“It’s been a tough couple of weeks where we’ve faced a lot of adversity, so it was good to see a response from the lads.”
On Hurst’s fine individual goal:
“Kyle is a bit of throwback as a winger and we thought he was tiring before he went and scored a goal like that which shows his capabilities.
“We’re pleased with his progress and he’s scored four goals now which is a good return, he’s scoring and creating chances at the moment.”
