More than 150 young supporters experienced playing on the Eco-Power Stadium pitch on Wednesday, where they were able to sample what it’s like to be a professional footballer for the day.
Our young supporters were joined by members of our first-team squad, where they had the opportunity to train, play and chat with the players they watch on a weekly basis.
Marketing manager Mark Hughesman said: “Play against the Players was all about opportunity and engagement and giving our loyal young supporters the unique opportunity to experience what it’s like to be a footballer as they were put through their paces by the head of sports science, coaching drills and finally the opportunity they’d all been waiting for playing against the first team.
“We appreciate the support that you have given the club this season and an event like this gives us the opportunity to say thank you in person.”
Despite the wind and the rain, our young supporters left the stadium with smiles and signatures, as well as some unforgettable memories too. We’d like to thank everyone who attended.
