Rovers will host Premier League side Everton in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
Grant McCann’s side booked their place in the second round with a superb 2-1 win at Hull City this week.
And it has earned a mouthwatering tie against Sean Dyche's Everton, who enter the competition at the second round stage.
It will be the first meeting between the two sides in almost 39 years, when Rovers were beaten 2-0 at Goodison Park in the FA Cup.
Rovers never lost at home to Everton - with two wins and a draw all coming in the 1950s.
The tie against the Toffees will take place during the week commencing August 28. Full details regarding the game and ticketing will be released in due course.
