Modou Faal believes he has found the perfect club to accelerate his development after joining Rovers on a season-long loan.
The towering West Bromwich Albion striker will spend the 23/24 campaign with Rovers - taking his first real steps into senior EFL football.
And he was eager to make the switch to the Eco-Power Stadium after hearing Grant McCann lay out his plans.
“I’ve seen that the club has appointed a great manager with a great history, getting promoted,” he said. “I feel like he’s been brought in to make a difference and hopefully get promoted.
“It’s what I wanted to hear. I think it’s a great place for me to develop and get better so I was on board.
“He wants me to just play my game. They like to play out but they’re not scared to go long when we need to stretch the game. He’s told me what he wants from me in my position and how he wants me to play, linked with the style of play that he likes and it’s worked out for both of us.”
