Grant McCann was pleased with the final opportunity to get game time into his players ahead of the new season as Rovers played out a 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town in a behind-closed-doors friendly.
Tom Anderson played his first 45 minutes of pre-season as he stepped up his recovery from a back injury while Jamie Sterry also featured in the first half after missing the friendlies against Sheffield Wednesday and Port Vale.
Deji Sotona netted during his hour on the pitch for Rovers at Huddersfield’s Canalside training complex.
And manager McCann was pleased with the efforts on the afternoon.
“It was a really strong performance from us,” he said. “It was pleasing to get minutes into the lads’ legs, especially those who have been carrying injuries.
“Deji scored a great goal and the lads from the under 18s who featured all contributed to what was a really positive afternoon for us.”
Rovers starting XI: Bottomley, Sterry, Anderson, Faulkner, Maxwell, Nixon, Degruchy, Ravenhill, Kuleya, Goodman, Sotona.
