Ian Lawlor was delighted to be back out in front of Rovers supporters despite his disappointment on how he re-debut for the club ended.
The keeper turned in a man of the match performance in the opening day clash with Harrogate Town, which ended in a 1-0 defeat courtesy of a second half penalty.
Lawlor was frustrated that he did not save Jack Muldoon's spot kick but spoke of his happiness about his return to the club.
"I loved it," he said. "I love being here and everyone knows to me it's like a second home. It's nice to be back and I'm really enjoying it.
"I've always had a good relationship with the fans. They always supported me when I was here before and I want to repay that faith and give them something to cheer about.
"It was a disappointing game. It's always disappointing when you lose a football game. In the manner that I conceded the goal probably too and I'll look back at that. I did think in the second half we gave a better account of ourselves."
