Individual errors have proven costly for Rovers so far this season but Tommy Rowe insists the whole team must take accountability for the difficult start to the season.
Speaking to the media ahead of the Carabao Cup tie with Premier League side Everton, Rowe said the squad has been buoyed by the positive performance at MK Dons at the weekend but must work together to banish the mistakes that have cost the side points in recent weeks.
“We’re all accountable for it,” he said. “It’s not down to individuals. Although it’s individual mistakes, we’re talking about teammates helping each other in certain situations.
“We’ve got to take more accountability and we’ve got to do more.
“The start is unacceptable. No one is saying we’re in a position where we’re playing well. We’ve had one game where we’ve had the performance level right, albeit in the cup where we got the fantastic win at Hull that has created this moment here for us on Wednesday evening.
“We stumbled across something at the weekend where we’re having to work harder and deliver more performances like that.”
