Rovers thankful for Supporters' Club donation

1 August 2023

Rovers were humbled to receive a significant donation from the DRFC Supporters’ Club Main Branch at their annual general meeting.

Manager Grant McCann was presented with a cheque from Supporters’ Club chair Len South for £5,000 which will be put towards infrastructure improvements at the club.

One of them items which the donation will cover is the installation of a new ticket priority points system. This will see points awarded for ticket purchases and allow for the use of a more detailed priority system for away matches with limited allocations, rewarding those who attend the most games.

A cheque for £1,000 was also presented to the Club Doncaster Foundation to support their work in the community.

Club Doncaster chief executive Gavin Baldwin said: “Yet again we are incredibly appreciative to the Supporters’ Club for their generous donations.

“These funds provide great support to the projects of both the club and the Foundation and we are grateful to be at the forefront of the Supporters’ Club thoughts as they consider their donations.”

Club Doncaster chief operating officer Shaun Lockwood said: “There has been plenty of work carried out at the stadium and behind-the-scenes over the summer and the donation to the club will greatly support those.

“The ticket priority system was something the Supporters’ Club was particularly passionate about. After consultation and guidance from the Shadow Board, we will be looking to implement a new method which we believe fans will be happy with, and the donation from the Supporters’ Club has allowed the necessary software work to be actioned.”
