Rovers captain Richard Wood is itching to get going with the new season as the big kick-off arrives on Saturday.
Harrogate Town visit the Eco-Power Stadium for the opening game of the campaign and Wood has been counting down the days.
“I always look forward to it,” he said. “Everyone wants pre-season to be over with because it’s hard graft and everyone wants to just get through to the real thing when it means something and where you get points on the board for winning games.
“Everybody looks forward to that. And fans, everyone at all clubs across the country is optimistic and it’s a clean slate for everybody. Who knows what can happen.”
