Peter Wright has been appointed referee for Rovers’ clash with Accrington Stanley on Saturday.
The Merseyside official has taken charge of 18 matches this term, with the majority coming in Sky Bet League Two. He has issued 62 yellow cards and two reds across those games.
This will be his first outing of the season refereeing a Rovers game but he previously handled them on eight occasions over the last six seasons, since being promoted to the EFL in 2018.
His most recent game involving Rovers was the 3-0 defeat at Carlisle United last season. Of the eight matches, Rovers won just one - the 2-0 home triumph over AFC Wimbledon in January 2021 - and lost six.
His first occasion refereeing a Rovers game was the trip to Accrington in October 2018, which ended 1-0 to the hosts.
Wright will be assisted by Johnathon Bickerdike and Conor Brown on Saturday while Oliver Bickle has been assigned fourth official duties.
