We are proud to say that our very own Dean Medcalf scooped the Supporter Liaison Officer of the Year prize at the Football Supporters’ Association’s annual awards.
Dean has been Rovers’ SLO for the last decade and has made a tremendous contribution to shaping the fan experience for supporters during that time.
He saw off competition from SLOs for Arsenal, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Stoke City, Lincoln City and Exeter City to claim the award.
The SLO role sees individuals act as a conduit between supporters and clubs, helping in implementing new policies and providing feedback to officials.
Though independent of Rovers, Dean has worked closely with the club on initiatives such as making the matchday experience more dementia friendly.
