Lewis Smith has been appointed referee for Rovers’ clash with Notts County on Boxing Day.
The Lancashire official has taken charge of 25 matches this term, with the majority coming in Sky Bet League Two and League One. He has issued 104 yellow cards and five red across those games.
This will be his second outing of the season refereeing a Rovers game, having taken charge of the 2-2 draw with Mansfield Town at the Eco-Power Stadium in August.
He previous oversaw last season’s 3-1 win at Grimsby Town.
Smith will be assisted by Daniel Robinson and Steven Rushton on Tuesday while Paul Stonier has been assigned fourth official duties.
