Rovers are pleased to confirm the signing of midfielder Charlie Lakin on loan for the remainder of the season.
A central midfielder who can also operate on the left, Lakin joins from Burton Albion having impressed while training with the Rovers squad this week.
Lakin said: “I’m delighted to get it done and I can’t wait to get going.
“My aim is to play consistently. I want to play as many games as I can and also help the team get into the top seven.”
Rovers head coach Danny Schofield said: “It adds competition for places in that area of pitch which was something we were looking to do. Charlie will come in and do that.
“We wanted to improve in numbers and competition for Ben Close, Harrison Biggins and Liam Ravenhill. It’s great competition.”
The 23-year-old joined Burton in the summer of 2021 after leaving his boyhood club Birmingham City.
Solihull-born Lakin made 16 senior appearances for the Blues following his debut in the FA Cup as an 18-year-old.
During his time at St Andrew’s, he had loan spells with Stevenage and Ross County and, along with his 36 appearances so far for Burton, he has passed the 100 senior career appearance mark.
Lakin - whose loan deal is subject to EFL clearance - will wear the number 23 shirt during his time with Rovers.
