Schofield: players working hard to keep improving

5 January 2023

Danny Schofield feels his players are growing in belief after three wins in their past four league games.

Rovers head to league leaders Leyton Orient this weekend just one point outside the Sky Bet League Two play-off places.

On building momentum:

“Football always poses you different problems and games are decided by moments, whatever tactics you have in place often it is decided on concentration levels and one bit of quality.

“We always provide feedback to the players and whether we win, lose or draw the process is the same, the demand is on the players to be better every day.

“Confidence is the foundation of performance and it’s something I focus on with the staff to try and give the players an enjoyable environment to work in.”

On having belief heading to Orient:

"It’s going to be a challenging game. They’ve got a very good coach and play a really expansive style of football which I enjoy watching.

“We’ve prepared during the week and focused on different things we expect from them, we know it will be a real test but we’re in a good place at the moment.

“We’ve won three out of our last four games and hopefully we can put on a performance which gives us a chance of taking all three points.

“The players at the moment are in good spirits, there is a real togetherness growing and a belief that we can perform to a really good level more often than not.”
