Danny Schofield felt his side put in one of their best performances of his tenure as they beat Carlisle United on New Year’s Day.
A goal in each half from James Maxwell and Kyle Hurst saw Rovers pick up their first win of 2023 at the Eco-Power Stadium.
On the effort of his team:
“I thought it was a really good game, particularly from us in the first half with the way we implemented a lot of good things that we’ve been working on.
“After half-time it was slightly different but we showed another side to our game and scored another good goal within that.
“We want that consistency and we’ve spoken about it a lot, we’ve seen a lot of good things in my time here so the challenge has been to do it on a more regular basis.”
On using the win to push them on:
“We reflect all the time from game to game and I think when we look back at that first-half performance in-particular we’ll be really pleased.
“We know there will be bumps along the way but we need to make sure we’re consistent with performance levels that can win games.
“We have a way and we want to keep emphasising that to the players so that we’re all pulling in the same direction.”
