Miller raring to go for Rovers

19 January 2023

Todd Miller is itching to get out on the pitch for his Rovers debut.

The winger was denied a first appearance for the club last weekend following his loan move from Brighton and Hove Albion as the clash with Crawley Town was postponed.

But is hopeful of making up for lost time against Tranmere Rovers on Saturday.

On being prepared for senior football:

“I’m much more prepared after the four seasons at Brighton, which have matured me as a player in terms of decision-making, technique and all the things like that.

“I’m just looking to get out there. I’ve had a good week of training. The game against Crawley got cancelled but it gave me an extra week of training and an extra week of getting to know the lads. It could have been a blessing in disguise for me and it’s another game to look forward to down the line.

“I’m looking forward to just getting out on the grass and showing what I can do. That’s the main thing for me. Everyone comes to football to play and score in front of the fans and that’s what I want to do.”

On his experience in the Papa John’s Trophy for Brighton against EFL opposition:

“They’re probably the most important games for an U21 player in terms of showing you can compete at that level and in a men’s game. It’s all well and good being the best player in an U21 game but as soon as it gets more physical or direct in terms of the playing style of the opposition, you have to be able to handle that.

“I feel like I had two decent games this season and I got the two goals. I’m looking to add to the tally.”

On chasing a top seven finish:

“That’s the plan - try to finish as high up as we can. That’s what everyone’s focus is.

“That’d be a good first loan but I’m just focused on training right now. Hopefully I can break into the team and show what I can do. Hopefully we can push on and achieve promotion.”
