Cliff Byrne praised the application of the Rovers squad as they began the pre-season training camp at St Andrews University in earnest.
The squad were put through their paces on the training pitches for the first time on Thursday morning and did plenty of work with the ball.
And assistant manager Byrne was pleased with how the players drove each other on out on the grass.
"It was heavily football-based, working on aspects of the game that we're going to want the boys to put into practice come matchday," Byrne said. "It was tough work but high intensity, sharp, how we want them to play.
"We're still building up those tolerance levels with the players and setting the demands of what we expect.
"To be fair, the group has been hugely demanding of each other so the appetite to train and work has been really strong."
