Rovers U18s manager Frank Sinclair has named Will Flint as the youth team captain for the 2023/24 season.
The second year scholar presented great promise in the first year of his apprenticeship, leading by example and setting the highest of standards.
That alongside his impressive form on the pitch led to him having training sessions and traveling to away matches with the first-team, being named on the bench for Danny Schofield's side on numerous occasions.
"It's a proud moment for me," Flint said.
"Having had the responsibility at the back end of last season I felt I handled it well and I am pleased that Frank thought the same and has offered me the captaincy for the new season."
Sinclair feels Flint was the right choice for the role but he is proud to have a group of leaders to fall back on with Justin Bennett appointed vice-captain.
He added: “I have known Will Flint a long time, having worked with him since he was in the U16s. I know his application towards the game is brilliant and his leadership is really good.
"He leads by example and has spent time in and around the first team so he can filter down to the boys what that's like.
"I gave him the captaincy towards the end of last season and he settled into that really well and that helped make my mind up.
"There's quite a few leaders in that group with Harry Wood, Justin Bennett and Freddie Allen for example. It was a hard choice, but it was the right choice and one that I think will make him a better player."
