Ian Lawlor admits he is looking forward to stepping up pre-season preparations when Rovers visit York City on Tuesday evening.
Manager Grant McCann fielded entirely different sides in each half of the friendlies so far at Rossington Main and Boston United and is set to increase the demands on his players by handing 60 minutes to the starting XI at the LNER Community Stadium.
Goalkeeper Lawlor - the first arrival of the summer recruitment drive - says the players will need to show more of what has been asked of them by the coaching staff.
“It’ll be another tough game against a club that has recruited quite well,” he said. “But it’s about us and what we need to get from the game and taking the messages from the manager from the training field into the game.”
