Doncaster Rovers Academy can confirm that Lee Walshaw has been appointed as lead youth development phase coach.
Lee started his career at Sheffield United whilst leading their international programme abroad prior to heading up their women’s department in the WSL.
He also spent seven years at Sheffield F.C. in a variety of positions including first-team assistant manager and club and community development manager. He has most recently been involved in Academy coaching at Lincoln City and Sheffield United.
As lead youth development phase coach, Lee will be responsible for overseeing Rovers U13-U16 age groups. He will work directly with age group coaches, providing strategic and CPD support while working closely with players, parents and wider Academy staff.
Head of coaching Steve Welsh said: "We've been through a turbulent year of staff movement and the development phase age groups have probably been hit the hardest by these movements.
"The appointment of Lee is really encouraging one as he provides stability but also adds a lot of expertise in coaching and leadership.
"We are looking forward to working with Lee in what we expect to be a really encouraging and exciting season across all areas of the club."
