Grant McCann is convinced that Tom Nixon is more than ready for the physicality that comes with the step-up to senior football.
The right back has joined Rovers on a season-long loan from Hull City and is looking to make his mark in the EFL.
“He’s everything we like in a full back,” McCann said. “He’s good on the ball, he can get forward and defend.
“For a young lad, he’s aggressive, loves the physical side of the game and is not afraid to get stuck in.
“When we play with the wide players we have, our full backs have to provide width for us at times and he’s excellent at that.
“He’s a very fit boy as well, very robust and never misses a training session. Hopefully he’s fit, firing and ready to go.”
