Welcome to Matchday Live - our new way to follow all the match action involving Rovers.
We will be bringing you text commentary of our matches on these pages, which will allow us to bring you greater detail of what is happening on the pitch with your boys in red and white.
Throughout pre-season we will be trialling this service so bear with us if we encounter some teething problems but we should be ready and firing for the start of the new campaign should we make this a permanent feature of our matchday coverage.
Rovers are looking to get back on track in result terms having suffered the first defeat of pre-season at York in midweek. A short trip to neighbours Scunthorpe United awaits, with a new batch of players set to receive their first 60 minute stint of the summer.

FT: Scunthorpe United 0 Doncaster Rovers 0
FT - ALL OVER
It ends goalless at a soggy Glanford Park
77' - NICE SAVE
Ian Lawlor got down well to bat away a shot after a driving run inside from Callum Roberts.
75' - CHANCE
A Rovers free kick was only half cleared and Deji Sotona cracked a dipping volley from the edge of the box that dropped just wide.
70' - VERY CLOSE
Scunthorpe almost took the lead. A finely weighted pass sparked a footrace between Jamie Sterry and Iron forward Kian Scales, who got a touch to the ball first and sent it past Ian Lawlor, but also just wide.
60' - ALL CHANGE FOR ROVERS
All ten outfield players have headed off and been replaced, with only Ian Lawlor remaining.
Heading on are Jamie Sterry, Joseph Olowu, Richard Wood, James Maxwell, George Broadbent, Ben Close, Tommy Rowe, Deji Sotona, Joe Ironside and Kyle Hurst.
52' - BRILLIANT EFFORT, GREAT SAVE
Rovers won a free kick 25 yards out and Harrison Biggins stepped up with a beauty of a strike that seemed destined for the top corner until Scunthorpe keeper Ross Fitzsimons tipped over the bar.
51' - STRIKE
Scunthorpe worked the ball forward through midfield and a shot from Michael Clunan from 20 yards flew narrowly wide.
46' - BACK UNDERWAY
And we are up and running for the second half
📸 - ACTION
HT - THAT'S THE BREAK
And we're goalless here after a rain-lashed opening 45 minutes.
45' - ADDITIONAL TIME
There will be a minimum of one minute of time added at the end of the first half
📸 - ACTION SHOT
And Tyler Roberts has seen plenty of action so far in this game - at both ends of the pitch. Involved in a couple of chances, the winger has also done more than his fair share of covering in defence, and is not afraid to put a challenge in.
41' - BIG CHANCE FOR SCUNTHORPE
The hosts had men forward for a throw in high up the pitch and the ball dropped kindly in the box for former Rovers midfielder Alfie Beestin but he could not turn an effort on target.
38' - LITTLE ACTION TO SPEAK OF
Not much is getting through to the final third for either side at this stage. The weather is extremely grim here and it's not making for much of a spectacle.
25' - GOOD EFFORT
A chance for Tyler Roberts. The Wolves loanee latched onto a loose ball midway through the Scunthorpe half and raced forward before firing narrowly wide from the edge of the box.
20' - AND ANOTHER
When it comes to chances, the floodgates have opened - which probably isn't ideal in this weather. Luke Molyneux collected the ball on the right, cut inside across the face of the box and fired low on goal, only to see his effort blocked.
19' - AND ONE FOR ROVERS
Play went straight up the other end and Rovers produced their first shot on target. The ball sat up nicely for Jon Taylor who lashed a low effort from 20 yards.
19' - FIRST REAL ATTEMPT
The game's first crafted chance. Scunthorpe winger Cameron Wilson collected an excellent long ball forward from Max Kouogun on the corner of the box and went for goal but could not beat Ian Lawlor.
11' - VERY CLOSE
Almost an opening for George Miller. Some brilliant play in the middle of the park saw Luke Molyneux release Harrison Biggins with the midfielder then spotting the run of Miller into the box. He sent a brilliant ball forward which was agonisingly out of reach for the striker.
9' - ALMOST AN OWN GOAL
Rovers produce their best passage of play so far. Luke Molyneux was released down the right with a great through ball from Charlie Seaman. The winger got the cross in, and did so again after it was cleared out and the Scunthorpe defender almost turned into his own goal as he put the ball out of play.
6' - EARLY PRESSURE FROM THE HOSTS
Scunthorpe have won three corners inside these first few minutes. Iron are moving the ball quickly and looking to release their full backs early and they have had Rovers on the back foot.
2' - AUDACIOUS
Scunthorpe keeper Ross Fitzsimons raced a long way out of his area to meet the ball, dropped his shoulder under pressure from George Miller and sprayed the ball up the pitch. Plenty of confidence on show.
1' - UNDERWAY
Jon Taylor takes the kick-off and we are up and running this afternoon
As expected, Grant McCann names pretty much the same XI that played the final 30 minutes of Tuesday's friendly at York City, only with Charlie Seaman and Jack Senior returning from illness and injury. Ian Lawlor remains between the sticks, having started at York.
