Rovers manager Grant McCann said patience ultimately paid off in his pursuit of striker Joe Ironside.
The striker was McCann's number one target for the position as he set about shaping his squad for the 23/24 season.
But with interest strong in the former Cambridge United forward, the Rovers boss needed to hold his nerve.
"There was a lot of interest in him and we had to be quite patient with it," McCann said. "We had to be patient with Joe. Initially I'd spoken to his agent prior to me coming into Doncaster, just to see what his movements were.
"There was quite a bit of interest in him, particularly from League Two and League One.
"It's a really good signing for us and I think Doncaster fans are going to like what they see."
