Plenty of smiles on faces as players go All Rover Doncaster

2 March 2023

Players and staff met hundreds of people across the city as part of the latest All Rover Doncaster Day.

Visits were paid to schools, businesses, junior football clubs and good causes in the area and proved incredibly popular as players and coaches interacted with members of the public.

Head coach Danny Schofield, Ben Close and Charlie Lakin put dozens of young footballers through their paces at Retford FC while Kyle Hurst, Charlie Seaman and Todd Miller did the same at Bessacarr FC. Assistant head coach Chad Gribble and James Maxwell took part in coaching at a Premier League Kicks event in Edlington.

From captain Tom Anderson and George Miller packing bags at Lidl, to Jonathan Mitchell and Jack Degruchy being shown how to service a car at Stoneacre and Luke Molyneux, James Brown and Ollie Younger meeting staff at Home Instead, there were visits to several members of the 100Club Partnership.

Joseph Olowu was down on the farm to meet young footballer Beau who is recovering from a broken leg suffered in a game, while Tommy Rowe, Harrison Biggins, Ben Nelson and Caolan Lavery were among those who visited Saltersgate, Longtoft and Sunnyfields primary schools.

A key fixture in our fan and community engagement programme, this was the third iteration of All Rover Doncaster and the widest reaching so far.

Chief executive Gavin Baldwin said: “You can do all you want on social media, but you can't beat seeing people's faces, talking to them and hopefully making a difference - that's what it's all about.

"We know this will boost crowds but more importantly bring us closer to people in the community."
