Caolan Lavery will miss the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury, head coach Danny Schofield has confirmed.
The striker suffered a ligament tear which forced him off during last weekend’s game against Northampton Town and has ruled him out for the remainder of the campaign.
Schofield said: "He'd been carrying a knee injury for a while and that deteriorated in the game. He underwent a scan and it needs an operation so he's going to be out for the season.
"He'll be back for day one of pre-season."
James Brown - who was also forced off against Northampton - will continue to be assessed ahead of Saturday’s clash with Crewe Alexandra after taking a blow to his lower back.
"James took an impact high up on his leg," Schofield said. "I'd say at the moment he is 50-50. He's not trained all week so we'll just have to see how he is."
Defender Ben Nelson will be monitored following his return from international duty with England U19.
