Rovers score high in Fan Engagement Index

30 March 2023

Rovers are delighted to have been named in sixth place out of 92 Premier League and EFL teams in the latest Fan Engagement Index.

The scoring sees Rovers come ahead of all of their Yorkshire counterparts, and is based on the 2021/22 campaign.

Think Fan Engagement (TFE) was founded by Kevin Rye, with the scoring system involving campaigns, structured dialogue, fan engagement and governance with fans, representatives, and other stakeholders.

Club Doncaster chief operating officer Shaun Lockwood said: “We’re really pleased. As a club we’ve been consistently in the top 10 since the Fan Engagement Index was created a few years ago.

“Things that make it up for us are the memorandum of understanding (MOU) which we have with the supporters’ trust, and that ensures we have good dialogue with an organisation that can safeguard the club.

“We’re one of a few clubs in the country who have an MOU, as well as that we invite fans in to meet the owners and also regular meetings with the shadow board.

“Although we’re sixth I still think there are things we can improve on, and we will be speaking to Kevin on how we can score better next year.”
