Rovers boss Grant McCann labelled the signing of defender Richard Wood as a ‘massive coup’ for the club.
The 37-year-old has signed a one-year deal at the Eco-Power Stadium, having ended last season by securing Championship survival with Rotherham United.
“I think he’s going to be really important to the changing room,” McCann said. “Just all the leadership abilities you need, he brings all that.
“I’ve known Woody for a long time now, playing against his teams and I actually lived very close to him when I was at Barnsley. He’s done unbelievable in his career, playing for some big clubs, at a high level in the Championship.
“For us to get him is a massive coup for the football club.”
